SENMI HOLOGRAPHIC PAPER AND FILM (Holyok, Massachusetts) created an innovative double-sided promotional product to showcase its cutting-edge holographic technology. Hazen’s team designed stunning artworks on both sides, using nano-holography to show specific visual effects. Compared with holographic printing, nano-holography provides more vivid three-dimensional effects. There is a fire-breathing dragon on the front with delicate shining scales. Through registered, custom color movement and multi-channel holographic effects, the effect of moving flames can be achieved. On the back, a random repeating custom hologram “random burst” without a spacer creates a dynamic three-dimensional flashing background for a group of butterflies.
The promotion is entirely from Hazen’s on-site holographic laboratory and was created on Hazen Envirofoil (an environmentally friendly product). In fact, the sub-micron transfer metalized Envirofoil uses less than 1% of the aluminum of traditional foil laminates and recycled film carriers, and can be re-pulped after deinking. It is offset printing using UV curable ink using AM lithography technology in Chicopee, Massachusetts. In the process of vertical integration, Hazen will produce from design to holographic paper in less than two weeks. Perhaps the most unusual aspect of the promotion is the double-sided custom hologram, with transfer metallization on both sides.
Founded in 1925, SENMI Paper Company is a leading paper processor in the United States, specializing in holography, film coating, foil and paper lamination, metallization, gravure printing, specialty coatings and rotary embossing. This is a family-run company with multiple production facilities in Holyoke. The company has a commitment to achieve sustainable development by using renewable energy to produce specialty materials that are universally used worldwide. This includes box making, label making, scratch-off lottery tickets and other security-related lottery tickets, labels, cards and beautiful applications.
Since 2006,SENMI has used many leading technologies including Senmi-Lens for holographic design, large format creation and production. Senmi can provide converted paper and cardboard certified by FSC, SFI and PEFC.
